Predictive Discovery

The Bankan Gold Mine project consists of four mining permits located near the town of Kouroussa in the Republic of Guinea, and overlapping with the Upper Niger National Park. The project has potential negative impacts on Critically Endangered western chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes verus) and on the Upper Niger National park. The project is owned by Predictive Discovery Inc. (PDI), an Australia-based mining exploration and development company. The ARRC Task Force was contacted by PDI in September 2023 to align its activities with IFC PS6; however, the Task Force declined to engage (see reasons for not engaging in the document below).
