Bon Ami

Bauxite mining

Dynamic Mining

Bon Ami is a proposed bauxite mining project in the Boké region of the Republic of Guinea. The Bon Ami project will have potential negative impacts on Critically Endangered western chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes verus). The project, consisting of a mine, a haul road, and a port, is owned by Dynamic Mining and is in the process of securing international funding before construction begins. This mine is planned to be operational for 13 years. The ARRC Task Force was contacted by Dynamic Mining in 2020 to review supplemental surveys for their ESIA to align with IFC PS6, as well as their framework for a BMP and Offset Management Plan. Chimpanzee surveys are ongoing as of September 2021.
