OMVG Interconnection Project


The Organisation pour la Mise en Valeur du fleuve Gambie (the Gambia River Basin Development Organization) (OMVG) Interconnection Project for Africa aims to enable electricity trade between four countries: the Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal. Its goal is the management of the common resources of the Gambia, Kayanga-Géba and Koliba-Corubal rivers. The 1,677 km interconnection transmission line crosses four countries including habitat of the Critically Endangered Western chimpanzee.
